    expertise gained in projects on: improve the fatty acids profile, reduce the cholesterol level, functional foods, reduce the food chain contaminants, antioxidants, etc.;

    expertise gained in projects on: reduce nitrogen excretion in ruminants, reduce phosphorus excretion in poultry, reduce copper and zinc excretion in pigs, etc.;
  • continuous revaluation of the nutritive value of the forage resources
    expertise gained in projects on: evaluation of the new lines/varieties of forage plants, evaluation of new by-products, or of by-products specific to Romania, etc.;
  • development of functional foods beneficial to human health
    expertise gained in projects on: feeds formulation optimisation in terms of vitamin E/selenium/fatty acids ratio, to improve broiler carcass quality; optimization of the nutritional factors in order to produce consumer eggs enriched in ? : 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids; increase milk level of polyunsaturated fatty acids;
  • increase the efficiency of feed utilization
    expertise gained in projects on: research on the ruminal metabolism (proteolysis, microbial protein synthesis, acidosis), on the absorption processes in monogastric animals (vitamins, minerals), etc.;

    expertise gained in projects on: effect of the temperature variations and methods of control; collateral effects of the intensive feeding; novel methods and techniques for poultry rearing making use of anolytes and catolytes to improve product quality and ensure sanitary veterinary protection;
  • natural alternatives to the classical sources of minerals and vitamins
    expertise gained in projects on: interdisciplinary research on the use of morus sp. in poultry production;
  • use of experimental animal models to study nutrition diseases in humans
    expertise gained in projects on: experimental model for the study of nutrient (Ca, B, phytosterols) availability and their influence on bone mineralization in pigs, scientific support for the study of osteoporosis; celiac disease: research on the incidence and diagnosis; provision of fortified flour products � medicine for the ,,long - life dietetic treatment.

    expertise gained in projects on: methodological model for the control of the feeding qualities for fat-rich feed ingredients;
  • development of chemical methods for feeds and animals foods quality checking expertise gained in projects on: development of the methods to evaluate the ingredients of the protein-vitamin-mineral concentrates for farm animals; development of a methodological design to measure the quality of the cereal grains used to manufacture concentrate feeds; quality evaluation of the protein-vitamin-mineral concentrates used in pig feeding; complex researches to determine biochemical markers specific to the regional dairy products
  • establishment and development of a system of methods for the studies of digestibility and bioavailability of the nutrients from different feed sources
    expertise gained in projects on: development of a set for the evaluation of ruminant feeds; set of chemical methods for the fast evaluation of the soybean meal protein digestibility
  • participation in interlaboratory surveys on the chemical composition of the forages

  • digestibility cages for pigs - 10 cages;
  • battery cages for layers and broilers for digestibility experiments;
  • experimental surgery facilities (fistulas, catheters, etc.);
  • air-controlled rooms for experiments on pigs and poultry;
  • animals with ruminal fistulas (cows, wethers);
  • metabolic chambers for large ruminants (2 chambers) to evaluate the environmental impact of animal production.
