Research / activity topics

COLLECTIVE FOR MONOGASTRIC NUTRITION

  • optimise the nutritional requirements so as to express the genetic potential of the pig and poultry breeds and hybrids
  • formulate and test compound feeds, protein-vitamin-mineral concentrates and vitamin-mineral premixes for pigs and poultry to optimise animal performance and cut the production costs
  • improved utilization of the local feed resources (cereal grains, vegetal and animal protein and food industry by-products) in pig and poultry feeding
  • feeding solutions to improve animal products quality (meat, eggs)
  • solutions to improve nutrient bioavailability using feed additives (vitamins, oligoelements, enzymes, growth promoters) to improve feed conversion ratio and the environmental impact of animal production
  • determine the optimal level of feed additives used in pigs and poultry feeding

COLLECTIVE FOR RUMINANT NUTRITION

  • optimise the diet formulation for ruminants to enhance animal performance and to improve the economic efficiency and product quality
  • optimise the formulations of compound feeds and protein-vitamin-mineral concentrates for different ruminant species and categories according to the bulk forage specificity, composition, manner of preservation, seasonal variations etc.
  • improved utilization of by-products from alcohol and milling industries in ruminant nutrition
  • testing of new feed additives and determine their dietary levels and bioproductive effect in ruminants
  • evaluate the effects of using silages in ruminant feeding according to their nature, quality and proportion in the diets
